The Conservatory and its spectacular views. All the bedrooms are centrally heated, ensuite with colour TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Relax and enjoy the ambience we have created in the Residents Lounge.

Rothesay Academy
Rothesay Academy moved in 2007 to be part of the new Rothesay Joint Campus complex. The campus incorporates the Academy, Rothesay Primary School and Argyll College.
The new buildings have first class facilities and the management team are working to enhance the educational development of all the pupils. A new website is now up and running here.

As well as hiring a range of quality bikes for all ages we also have a range of bikes for sale. We stock a range of bikes from Raleigh for all ages and riding styles. We are also able to order from the excellent Diamond Back range of mountain bikes.

Workwear & Uniforms
Our workwear range from Dickies & Hoggs of Fife includes a large range of boots, boilersuits, shirts and waterproofs. We can also order from Dickies extensive catalogue.
As well as workwear we can source and embroider (see below) school uniforms. Our main supplier for these is Prestige Leisure whose robust clothing is ideally suited to the rough and tumble of the school playground.

Morningside Holiday Flats
Located on the picturesque Serpentine Road, Morningside is a gracious Victorian conversion with fine views accross town towards Rothesay Bay and the hills beyond.
Four flats provide choice with double, twin, triple and family sleeping arrangements.Groups can book a combination of the flats to keep the whole party in one location.
Morningside is centrally located in the main town just off the main centre of town but on a quiet road. Close to local restaurants, pubs, supermarkets and many of the local amenities, including just 5 mins walk from Rothesay Gold Course.
The Bayview Hotel

This elegant house is ideally situated on the quiet Craigmore shore with panoramic views over Rothesay Bay and looking up towards Loch Striven and the famous Kyles of Bute and is only ten minutes walk from the town centre of Rothesay and the ferry terminal
Relax and enjoy the Victorian grandeur of days gone by in this beautiful building with many of its original features still intact. The Bayview offers a choice of menu, has a residents licence, private parking and is non-smoking throughout.
The Isle of Bute Jazz Festival
The Isle of Bute Jazz Festival began in 1988 and has been staged annually on the first weekend of May ever since - thisyear’s event will be the 21st.
The first Festival was a small affair with only six bands, and the organisers held their breath to see if anyone would come to a small Scottish island with little tradition of jazz (although big dance bands certainly played regularly at Rothesay Pavilion in the 1950’s and 60’s). Happily enough fans turned up that first year to encourage another venture the following year, and the Festival has continued to grow in reputation and stature ever since.
Some very well known jazz names featured on the programme over the next few years - Acker Bilk, Monty Sunshine, Martin Taylor, Tommy Smith, Andy Sheppard, Carol Kidd, The Temperance 7, and The London Community Gospel Choir amongst others, and the Festival continues to attract top class UK and international bands in mainly the Traditional New Orleans idiom.
The Festival is a great supporter of young musicians who feature prominently in the annual programme.
Phil Mason
Director Phil Mason - another well-known name in jazz circles - is a long-term resident on the Island and he brings his very popular New Orleans All-Stars with Blues & Gospel singer Christine Tyrrell to the weekend every year.
Everyone who visits the Festival comment on the relaxed and happy atmosphere - the local residents are very proud of the event and always give a warm welcome to jazz fans.
