The West Island Way
The best way to get to know Bute is to explore the island. This being Argyll, be prepared for this exploration to include the possibility of getting wet and a possibly a wee bit muddy. For the energetic we have an interesting walking route dubbed the “West Island Way” - pun intended - which runs the full length of the island for approx. 30 miles. This walk will show you virtually every detail of the geography of Bute as it runs along the spine of the island. You’ll also get some cracking views of Arran, the Mull of Kintyre and the Cowal Hills along the way.
